What we do

We are decarbonizing building for a net-zero future.

As a global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, we partner with customers, architects, engineers, public authorities and cities around the world. Leveraging our formulation expertise and open innovation ecosystem, our products and solutions enable the construction industry to build better with less.

We offer the world's broadest ranges of low-carbon cement and low-carbon concrete, and we're recycling construction demolition materials into new building solutions to drive circular construction.

Explore our four pillars to decarbonize building:

  • Green operations: decarbonizing our own operations to become a net-zero company
  • Circular construction: driving circular construction with solutions to reduce, recycle and reuse materials
  • Building better with less: scaling low-carbon construction with innovative brands
  • Making buildings sustainable: improving energy efficiency for buildings in use with our solutions

With our low-carbon, circular and energy-efficient building solutions, we are accelerating the transition to sustainable building. Our offer spans:

  • Solutions & Products, including advanced roofing like Elevate, insulation and specialty building solutions
  • Aggregates, including Aggneo – our range of recycled aggregates
  • Ready-mix concrete, including ECOPact low-carbon concrete
  • Cement, including ECOPlanet low-carbon cement

Our flagship brands

We work closely with architects to provide new technologies and solutions to enable sustainable design.

We collaborated with the Norman Foster Foundation on the Essential Homes Research project. Unveiled at the 2023 Venice Biennale of Architecture, the project was named Architectural Innovation of the Year (Built) in the Global Architecture & Design Awards.

In 2021, Holcim, with partners including Zaha Hadid Architects, built Striatus – the first-of-its-kind 3D concrete printed bridge. And in 2023, we unveiled Phoenix: the evolution of Striatus made with 10 tons of recycled materials.

With GO CIRCULAR, Team Holcim-PRB is sailing the world with a call to action to accelerate circular building and living, from sea to city.

In 2023, GO CIRCULAR joined The Ocean Race – a global climate-positive sports event that symbolizes Holcim's commitment to sustainability. Team Holcim-PRB collected valuable environmental data at every step of the race to help advance climate science.

The team has its sights set on the Vendée Globe 2024 to continue to spread the GO CIRCULAR message and create a positive impact together.
